Sailor doll dresses

Image
I made three new nautical/sailor themed doll dresses.  I am really dating myself here but I also had a sailor style dress growing up.

Each is two of a kind and available in my Etsy shop here.

Random ramblings on the election

I'm normally not one to write on politics as I prefer to keep out of it.  However, after reading what some people have written and others have said I felt the need to share my thoughts.  These are simply my thoughts so take them or leave them for what they're worth.

Time for deep thought and one can hope deep words about the election results. I’m still shocked and numb by the outcome. What I have to say may upset some, may cheer others on, and may even have no effect what so ever. No matter what I hope we can be adults about this. Any comments trying to invalidate a person’s feelings or general meanness in general will be deleted. Please try to be adult about it unless you want to trigger my INFJ rage. It won’t be pretty.

I’m functioning on only a few hours of sleep, a rather nasty headache, and lots of caffeine. Now many people are probably wondering why this is. After Trump’s win I had a FB friend write me begging me for my number to talk to me in case they got scared. I gave …

I made a new three of a kind doll dress for fall/Hallowe'en.  It's made from a modern fabric with a vintage print so it will work well for the 1930's all the way to the 1950's.

The dress is loose enough it will fit the older Pleasant Company style dolls.

It's available in my Etsy shop here.  https://www.etsy.com/listing/476814757/three-of-a-kind-halloween-fall-orange

I'm in no way affiliated with American Girl or any doll company.  These are dresses that will fit these sized dolls.

I made a new dirndl dress made from vintage fabrics.
I made it from vintage cotton, ric rac, and lawn.  The embroidery is all machine done.  It's one of a kind and available here.

I was kicking this idea around late last night and made it happen today.  I need to make a Hallowe'en one so I have an idea but need to work on it.
Prints and more are available here RedBubble http://www.redbubble.com/people/edwardiangirl/works/22649750-christmas-scene Society6 https://society6.com/theedwardiangirl

I made a new OOAK calico and green doll dress.
It's in the 1850's style but it could also work for early 1860's fashion.  The skirt is very gathered so you could easily have a petticoat or hoops underneath the skirt.

The green ribbon is edged in gold ribbon to help give it a little sparkle.

It's available in my Etsy shop here.

I made two new doll dresses.

I think I’ll have one of the yellow ones be a dress that Maragret Ann Brady wears in the “Dear America” series.  In the book she has a yellow dress and I like the nautical theme of the pattern.
I kind of want to make the pink one in blue to match Nellie’s eyes.

Both dresses are available in my Etsy shop here:

I’m also supposed to be getting some orange silk in the mail today.  I ordered some so I can make a new dress for Addy.  I think she could look quite nice in the orange.  Hopefully I have the right color thread.  I avoided buying a spool of thread because monitor settings can be different from reality so it’s always better to have the fabric in my hands so I can get some thread.

I completed a new one of a kind doll dress.

The dress comes with a removable apron and both are trimmed with pretty Venice lace.  I added the gold ribbon rosette as a little color splash.  It's pretty straight forward but rather cute.

You can find the dress here in my Etsy shop.

I completed another new doll dress for my Etsy shop.

It's made from reproduction fabric and trimmed with gold satin ribbon and gold filled beads.  The lace is venice lace and makes for an adorable trim around the neckline.

I made a new dress for Rebecca from American Girl.  It's a 1914 style dress and will fit the older Pleasant Company style dolls.
It is available in my Etsy shop here.  https://www.etsy.com/listing/400581837/ooak-1914-style-dress-drop-waist-vintage

On Monday I'll have a sale on all doll clothes in my Etsy shop.

Upon request I made this simplified blue Edwardian era doll dress.  It's based on the same dress I made the red dress that Samantha wears.  Instead of lace I used cotton and metallic ribbon.

It's two of a kind and available in my Etsy shop.

For your consideration is my newest creation for a client.  I've made a Belle Epoche circa 1890's blouse.
It is available in my Etsy shop here.  https://www.etsy.com/listing/398790927/custom-made-belle-epoche-circa-1890s

I've made two new Titanic era tea dresses.  They're both lightly beaded on the top and while I've done my best to sew them down securely they're not for children who still put things in their mouths.
I know it's a long shot, but AG, if you're reading this, please consider giving Josefina some pink in her wardrobe!  She looks adorable in pink!

They are available in my Etsy shop here.

Fashion plates strike again!

I made a new dress that I based on an April 1799 London fashion plate.  It was a lot of work but I think it turned out quite nicely.
And a small self portrait just because I like this picture.
The dress is available here.  https://www.etsy.com/listing/291814459/custom-made-circa-1799-early-regency-era

I made a circa 1865 drafted from the same pattern of Addy's Cape Island dress that is based on a real dress from the Wisconsin Historical Society.

I made it in a Christmas fabric that has holly and light gold lines running through it.
You can purchase it here.

I completed this doll dress late last night.

OOAK dress based on the Cape Isand dress worn in one of Addy's short stories. The dress in the book is based on a real dress in the Wisonsin Historical Society!

I made two new Edwardian style dresses.  The blue dress was inspired by Samantha's blue play dress in the book "Meet Samantha."  The pink dress Nellie is wearing was based on a real Edwardian dress from the era. Nellie's pink dress is available here on Etsy. https://www.etsy.com/listing/266568422/three-of-a-kind-pink-rose-edwardian-doll Samantha's blue dress is available here on Etsy. https://www.etsy.com/listing/266462625/three-of-a-kind-blue-and-white-plaid
